About
The 3rd Symposium of the Italian Glia Network (IGN) will be the first in-person meeting organised since the network was founded in 2023 by Italian neuroscientists aiming to create a dedicated platform for glial research in Italy. The IGN promotes scientific exchange, collaborations and emerging research in glial biology. Following two successful online symposia in 2024 and 2025 and the rapid growth of the network to over 250 members, the need for an in-person event became clear.
The symposium is designed as a one-day meeting to facilitate participation from researchers across Italy while keeping costs accessible, especially for students and early-career scientists. The programme will include three thematic sessions focused on Astrocytes, Microglia and Oligodendrocytes/PNS, alongside keynote lectures from internationally recognised speakers. Oral and poster sessions will encourage active participation, with particular attention to promoting visibility and networking opportunities for early-career researchers.
